Author Bibi Rizer Takes Over

Mwa ha ha ha (evil laugh). AJ Has given me permission to occupy her blog while she's away. So of course I'm just going to share my excitement about my upcoming March 1st release:

I'm super excited to share the details of the next book in my fun and sexy series, the Fireworks Novellas: Objectify Me.

Here's a video about the Fireworks Novellas

Blurb:

Seattle law student Levi Borovski has been ceremonially dispatched from his family home to “get over himself” as his mother not so politely puts it. For the last year he’s been experimenting with living by orthodox Jewish traditions and it’s driven his liberal secular parents crazy. To make matters worse, the nice Jewish medical student for whom he put in all this effort has just gotten engaged to someone else. Why Levi’s mother thinks spending Mardi Gras in New Orleans will improve his mood is something of a mystery, but at this stage he’s pretty much ready to try anything. So when his frat buddies ditch him to take off on some drug dealer’s riverboat Levi is left to his own devices in the Big Easy, determined, despite everything to let the good times roll.

Charlotte Gibbs doesn’t exactly hate her demeaning job as a lap dancer in the high end French Quarter gentlemen’s club, Objections. It’s good money and the attention she gets from her mostly rich lawyer clientele satisfies her ego enough that her perpetual singlehood no longer feels like a voodoo curse. Tourists can be a pain though, and Mardi Gras week is especially bad. Still, a hard-working girl like Charlotte is entitled to have a little fun sometimes. So when an adorably drunk but sincere West Coast college boy invites her for a drink, Charlotte decides to take a chance.

Neither of this mismatched set of misfits imagines that the magic of Mardi Gras will rub off on them in quite such a sexy, dramatic and life changing way. When the sun comes up on New Orleans will they find a way to make this unexpected magic last?

She tastes like lime and sugar, and her mouth is warm and soft. My cock throbs as I think about what other parts of her might be warm and soft, too. Just when I think I might slide down on the ground with her legs wrapped around me, she pulls back. I sneak a look down at her cleavage which is moving up and down as she breathes heavily.
“So…what’s your hotel like?” She looks back over my shoulder to the hotel a block away.
“It’s nice. Pretty quiet. Quaint, I guess you’d say. It’s decorated with antiques and stuff.”
She looks up at me through her eyelashes, nodding, a twinkle in her eye. “And your room? That’s nice?”
“Yeah, good. It’s like a two-bedroom suite, because I came with two friends. So they let me have the bigger room because I organized the trip. There’s a balcony over Bourbon Street. It’s pretty cool.”
She nods some more, her mouth slowly breaking into a grin.
“Oh God,” I say. “I really suck at this. You’re looking for an invitation, right?”
“Unless you feel strongly about another cocktail.”
“Hell, no.” I grab her hand and we practically run the block and half back to the LaFleur. By the time we get there, we’re out of breath and laughing. And I can’t quite believe what’s happening. I’m glad I didn’t have another cocktail. This is the kind of situation that can go south in about a thousand different ways when too much alcohol in involved.
I sneak a little kiss as I dig the key out of my pocket.
The doorman looks up as we walk in. I wink at him and lead Charlotte to the staircase.
“Boy, you been gone five minutes!” he calls after us.
Charlotte trails her hand along the wooden bannister as we climb up to the second floor. “I’ve walked past this place about a thousand times, and I’ve always wanted to see inside.”
“Is it what you expected?”
“It’s clean,” she says pausing at the top of the stairs to look at a painting of a pirate. “I dunno. I think I expected these places to be like haunted houses or something. All old and dusty.”
I tug her across the landing to the door of our suite. “Not haunted at all. We even have WiFi.” I pause as I unlock and open the door, taking her hand. This whole situation is so crazy and surreal, I need to make sure I don’t epically screw it up. “I want you to know something,” I say. “I’m not one of those guys who thinks that just because a girl comes to your hotel room, it means she agrees to sex.”
Charlotte grins and touches the tip of her nose onto mine. “But I do agree to sex.” She grabs the front of my shirt and pulls me through the door, slamming it behind us.

The most depressing Monday Update ever.

This last week sucked hard, not just because I didn't get anything done but more because I spent almost the entire week bouncing like a pinball between Urgent Care, two different ER's and a Specialist. So far I am somewhere between a diagnosis of MS and Lymphoma but truthfully, I don't think any of them know what the Hell they're talking about. It took them six days to give me antibiotics even though I was running a fever over 100 and when they finally got around to doing that, all but one of my symptoms resolved so there is that.

This pretty much means I got nothing, and I do mean nothing done. No writing, no nothing. I was pretty much absent the entire day for my own release party last Monday for Masked & Miserable. I pretty much only appeared for my own timeslot and felt really bad about it too.

The depressing reality is I am not going to get much of anything done this week and next either. I leave for a family vacation on Thursday of this week to meet my future in-laws in Virginia and to spend some time in Washington DC taking in the sites and nerding out at the Smithsonian.

While I am looking forward to all of that, the pressure is on for getting Cutter's Hope The Virtues Book I done and ready to go for a Christmas 2015 release. Why? Because the main storyline of Cutter's Hope ties in directly with today's Bibi Rizer release of Objectify Me. The second novella in her Fireworks series!

If you haven't picked it up yet I highly recommend you do. It is an absolute honor to be tying our two worlds together and in some really fun ways.

So that's really all I've got for you today. Sorry there isn't more, but, you know... I'll probably have an update closer to the end of next week for you seeing as I will be travelling next Monday and can't post from an airplane. (It'd be nice if I could.)

See you guys around! Happy reading. :)

Monday Update!

Happy Monday and boy do I have a lot to talk about!

So on Saturday I was at the AFK Elixirs & Eatery pedaling my books with 9 other fabulous authors. I've got some pictures here! Give me but a moment...

Set up was completed around 1 o'clock - (the event started at 2) allowing me to help out elsewhere!

Things got started quickly and it wasn't long before my first copy walked away!

The man with the plan and the organizer of the event, Jeffrey Cook.

The event from my POV.

Here I am! You can see that my stack of Shattered & Scarred is quickly diminishing. A huge thank you to the people who came out and to my street team, specifically Deanna, Sherelle, Melanie and Jennifer for creating teasers and for hooking me up with such an amazing multi-media display. It ran just about the whole event and made my display rather eye catching! You guys are the best!

As the night wore on, I just had to sample the drink created in my honor by the AFK. The Shattered & Scarred was at the top of the drink menu and consisted of Blackmaker, (a root beer flavored liqueur), Bacardi 151, Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, Bitters, and Cherry Coke. It was surprisingly good and led to some serious fun times. It was like someone looked at my mouth and shouted "Release the Kraken" because suddenly it wasn't enough for me to sell my books, I started selling the author's next to me at my table. Seriously. Go buy Rachel's book Core of Confliction. Aliens with swords. She has Aliens with mother&^%ing swords in her book!

Action shot! I would like to say that it was super busy like this just about the entire time in our section but the people in this particular shot are actually most of the other authors that were socializing. I was the only romance specific author in attendance. Contemporary romance at that. Everyone else was a sci-fi or fantasy writer and given the venue I was even more the redheaded step child as far as genre's go! That was okay though! Because of loyal, loving and you know, my exceptionally horny fan base I managed to sell quite a few copies! No thanks to my tagline when people would stop to look at my books. They would peruse the covers and as soon as they made eye contact with me I would say it... "Hi! I write porn!" The expressions were priceless and had the whole section busting up. I think I was a one woman peanut gallery and I had no problem with that!

The end of the night, about an hour after the sellers event dried up and blew away, I was still at my table with my friend Tor, nomming on some dinner when a bachelorette party took up residency at two tables near ours. They were blowing up these giant penis balloons and I was like, you know what? I write porn and I'm going to make this chick's night. So I gave her a free copy of Shattered & Scarred. She snatched the book, screamed "I LOVE LITERARY PORN!" to which the rest of the section busted up laughing and I signed her book for her. "Congratulations on getting married, you're going to need this... A.J. Downey" It was the perfect end to the night! Especially when they popped one of the balloons and I got to yell, "That just brought a whole new meaning to popping a boner!"

So you can see I had quite the eventful Saturday. I can't wait for the next one. Finally, today is going to be a busy day! Why? Because it's LAUNCH DAY!!!

So if you haven't bought your copy yet, please do so. It may be short but you don't want to miss it!

Until next Monday. Peace, love and happy reading!

Monday, Monday, Monday... time for an update!

Monday, Monday, Monday... time for an update!

I spent a chunk of the Super Bowl readying my books to take to I <3 Books this coming Saturday.

You can get all the info here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1469734983247183
...

After the Super Bowl I spent a good portion of my time wallowing and drowning my sorrows in a giant ass bag of Skittles which are so *not* on my meal plan.

(I still don't want to talk about it if that's okay with you. Some traumas run deep. That loss was one of them.)

This week will be a whole lot of just me getting my shit together and shipping some shit out. I have a chunk of books I still need to send to ASOT. (Authors Supporting Our Troops) I have a shipment I need to make to my soldier buddy over in BFE Turkey somewhere, and last but not least, I have a signed copy of Shattered & Scarred plus some miscellaneous other Swag to send off to my winner Sarah from last week's give away.

I have no idea if any of it will actually ship this week, more than likely they will all ship next week, but I at least have to try and get it all together this week. It's on my list of things to do.

I'm almost finished getting ready for the I <3 Books event. Still a few things to do. It's looking good though.

Other than that, there isn't much for me to report. Have a safe and happy week and if you're local, I'll see you at I < 3 Books on Saturday!

Oh and trailer -
